A FIREBALL has been captured on film shooting across the skies of Andalucia.
On Friday night at around 10:44pm, a fireball was seen in the skies of Spain’s southernmost region.
The phenomenon could be seen in Cadiz, Sevilla, Cordoba and Malaga.
According to José María Madiedo, astrophysicist of the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA), the rock that entered the atmosphere did so at a speed of 133,000 kilometers per hour.
The collision with the atmosphere at this enormous speed caused the rock to illuminate the sky, generating a fireball that began at an altitude of about 102 km above the southwest province of Córdoba.
The ball advanced in a southwest direction, crossing the provinces of Seville, Malaga and Cádiz.
The spectacle disappeared at an altitude of 87km whilst over Cadiz, almost directly above the town of Los Barrios.
In total, it traveled about 180 kilometers in the atmosphere.
