BREAKING: Farmer killed by hail storm after becoming trapped in greenhouse in Spain’s Andalucia

Breaking news at The Olive Press

A FARMER has died after becoming trapped inside his greenhouse during a hail storm in Almeria.

The man is believed to have perished late last night or early this morning at the site in Nijar, according to Efe.

The body, in an area called Cortijo del Saladar y Leche, in the Campohermoso neighbourhood, is yet to have been retrieved.

Due to the icy conditions, it is not possible to access the body.

It comes as Malaga has also woken up to extremely icy conditions following a hail storm this morning.

Schools have been closed and roads cut off due to the risk of slipping.

Meanwhile, an orange-level warning has been activated in the province for the entirety of today (Thursday).
