ONE person has died and four others have been hospitalised after a car crash near Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Two vehicles collided head on late last night in Mijas on the road travelling towards Coin.
Emergency services first received a call at around 9:40pm to the incident on the A-7053.
Officials have not released the age and sex of the person that died.
The four injured people include a 19-year-old woman and three men aged 37, 53 and 71.
They were treated at Marbella’s Costa del Sol Hospital.
The response efforts involved the Policia Local, Guardia Civil, firefighters and Public Health Emergency Company (EPES).
This latest death is the fifth in the Costa del Sol general area in the last five days.
Recent road fatalities include: a 46-year-old motorcyclist on the A-357 in Malaga, an 82-year-old man on the A-7 in Estepona, one person on the A-357 in Carratraca, and a man on Sunday on the A-7053 towards Mijas.
