People living in Andalucia were woken up with a rumble this morning.

An earthquake measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale rocked Granada province at 8:34am.

The quake’s epicentre was the town of Atarfe in the Vega de Granada Region.

Those living in Atarfe, Santa Fe, Vegas del Genil and the Granada capital are also likely to have felt the tremor.

Emergency services have reported no injuries or damage caused by the earthquake.

In October, Sevilla was shaken by a 4.7 magnitude earthquake, the aftershocks of which were felt as far as Ronda and Marbella.
