A ‘BREXIT porter’ is now available for beer-loving British expats in Spain thanks to a pub in Andalucia.
Bar Allioli in Jimera de Libar is the exclusive Spanish stockist of the dark Dutch beer, titled ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’.
Made from four types of malt, the 7% beer from Brouwerij Hommeles, is described as ‘hoppy’ and ‘robust’.
The drink, which typically retails at €3, was released with a vintage 1950s-style poster, by draftsman Frank Zuithof.
An image features UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson carrying the bags of ‘Miss Europe’ onto a Brussels-bound train.
Brewer Jos Eberson said: “A porter was originally a London beer, which has been brewed since the 18th century.
“The dark, hoppy beer owes its name to the porters or ‘porters’ in London, among whom this beer was very popular.
“Due to the upcoming Brexit we came up with the idea of ??brewing this appropriate beer.
“Of course we set a box aside for Boris Johnson.”
