IT’S great news for Andalucia, as three restaurants have got an extra star in the 2020 Michelin Guide.
Bardal in Ronda has risen to two stars, as has Noor in Cordoba and Skina in Marbella.
There are also two new stars with Dama Juana in Jaen and Mantua of Jerez both getting a star.
The glitzy gala took place in Sevilla, which saw dozens of Spain’s top chefs in attendance.
Meanwhile, Marbella’s most famous chef Dani Garcia handed back his three Michelin stars, having announced he was packing it in at his luxury restaurant just a month after being awarded the accolade last year.
It comes as another Michelin star was lost in Casares at Hotel Finca Cortesin’s Kabuki restaurant.
Spain meanwhile also has its next three Michelin Star chef; Jesus Sanchez at Cenedor de Amos in Santander.
The former trainee at El Bulli opened his first restaurant in Villaverde de Pontones, 20kms from Santander in 1995.
He is the 11th three-Michelin genius to win the incredible honour.
In total 18 new restaurants received stars in Portugal and Spain.
Finally Aponiente holds its three stars in Cadiz.
