Cruel couple who dumped dog before it ran after their car as they drove away charged with animal abuse in Spain’s Andalucia thanks to local who got everything on film

A HEARTLESS couple in Andalucia have been charged with animal abuse after abandoning their dog.

The 50-year-old man and 43-year-old woman were rumbled when a local in the town of Peligros, Granada, filmed them dumping their pet podenco there.

In the footage, shared widely on social media, the dog can be seen running back to the car to its owners before they drive off.

After seeing the video, the Association of Abandoned Animals of Granada reported the couple, from Armilla, to the Guardia Civil on October 7.

Investigators were able to track down the couple and investigate them for the abandonment of their pet.

They soon discovered the pooch had no microchip or health card, while a local vet denounced the couple for not ‘fulfilling their obligation to take care of the animal’s health.’

The couple are now facing several charges related to crimes against domestic animals.
