FAR right political party Vox has hit back at Spain’s biggest pop star, Rosalia after she said ‘f*** Vox’ in a tweet.
The 26-year-old Catalan star made the outburst on Sunday during the Spanish General Election in which Vox took a historic 52 seats.
But Vox has employed the words of fascist philosopher Ramiro Ledesma Ramos in its retort to the global star.
In its own tweet, which accompanied a picture of Rosalia on an LA-bound plane, Vox wrote: “Only millionaires like you who have private planes can permit themselves the luxury of not having a homeland.”
Ramos was a key member of the Falange party, who was executed during the Spanish Civil War.
Rosalia’s scathing tweet was retweeted by 69,000 people and received 200,000 likes.
Vox has campaigned on a platform of anti-immigration and pledged to repeal gender-based violence laws.
The party emerged top of the polls in Murcia, gaining more seats than the left wing PSOE and right wing PP.
It also performed well in Costa del Sol locations popular with elderly expats, securing 26.7% of the votes in Estepona, as well as Benahavis (31.77%), Coin (29.4%) and Alhaurin el Grande (31.77%).
After the PSOE, which won the elections, and the PP, Vox is now Spain’s third largest political force.
Firstly Kudos to Rosalia she represents a lot of Young and not so Young people of Spain. Why do you keep on about”It also performed well in Costa del Sol locations popular with elderly expats,” mentioned in several articles. The ex pats had no influence what so ever they can´t vote but thats another story if you are resident ,pay your taxes only local elections are you allowed to vote and don´t forget if youve lived here more tan 15 years no vote for the U.K.
One suspects that Vox “did well” in the quoted areas because of the high profile of the many foreigners living there. This probably stirs up the anti-immigrant prejudices of those Spanish people who ARE empowered to vote.
The strongest weapon all right-wing parties employ, is fear and hatred of the “Other”. Be it Jews, Muslims,Blacks, Browns, or, in this case, apparently, comfortably well-off incomers. All grist to the mill of hate-parties.
Ok, and what was the quote from Ramiro Ledesma Ramos that you are referring to? Also, who executed him and why?
