A CONVICTED Gibraltar murderer, who stabbed his wife his wife to death, has had his conviction quashed.
Real Lishman, 44, faced an 18-year sentence over the killing of his 32-year-old wife Carolina Lishman on the Rock in 2017.
But Gibraltar’s Court of Appeal has today ordered a retrial and rejected the conviction as ‘invalid’.
Carolina was found dead with 12 stab wounds at her home in Sir William Jackson Grove, in the Rock’s first suspected murder since 2015.
Earlier this year a Gibraltar court heard how Lishman turned the knife on himself following his alleged attack.
The heartbreaking testimony of the couple’s six-year-old daughter was read out.
She said: “Daddy stabbed mummy, then daddy stabbed himself.”
The reasons behind judges’ latest decision in the Lishman trial cannot be reported on.
