POLICE have thwarted a gang of masked youths who intended to terrorise a neighbourhood and overturn cars on Halloween in Malaga.
The alarm was raised after an image of two youths surrounded by weapons with the text ‘What are you going to do on Halloween?’ was shared on social media.
Over 100 youths gathered in the city’s Teatinos district intending to run rampage, up-tipping cars.
However, the thugs were stopped in their tracks by police who flooded the neighbourhood. In the end, they only managed to upturn one vehicle before officers intervened.
Police say the youths were dressed in black with many of them wearing balaclavas to conceal their identities.
During the police operation, one child was arrested for possession of a pellet gun while another six were stopped for possessing weapons, including a laser gun and razors. A further 25 balaclavas were seized by police.
In an unrelated incident on Halloween night, officers arrested two 15-year-old girls for burning three three rubbish skips near the Malaga law courts.
