IN PICTURES: Aftermath of huge fire that ripped through hills of Spain’s Costa del Sol

THESE stark images show the devastating impact left by a huge moorland fire that broke out last night.

All taken above Manilva’s Aldea Hills urbanization, the eerie shots show charred bushes, scorched earth and miles of burnt scrubland.

When Olive Press reporters visited the affected zone at 1pm today, small areas were still on fire and a helicopter was in use to tackle the flames.

An Endesa worker was also checking the safety of electricity pylons near to the affected area.

The last updates from INFOCA were that the area had been stabilised and that a water helicopter had been drafted in.

As many as 90 firefighters had been called into extinguish the inferno, while up to 40 people are believed to have been evacuated.
