Illegal Albanian immigrant awaiting deportation arrested on suspicion of 84 burglaries in Alicante

Albanian Robber

AN ILLEGAL Albanian immigrant awaiting deportation has been arrested on suspicion of 84 burglaries in Alicante.

Policía Nacional and the Guardia Civil swooped on the 53-year-old while he was holed up in a migrant detention centre in Valencia city.

A special unit of both undercover and uniformed agents tracked down the alleged criminal by investigating unknown vehicles and non-residents in the Elche and Santa Pola areas.

Witness testimonies helped police circle in on the alleged burglar’s movements and modus operandi.

The investigation heralded the seizure of a car without licence plates, which carried DNA traces of the 53-year-old suspect and led to his arrest.

His case has been transferred to Elche’s Court of Instruction no.3 while he awaits imminent deportation, expected this month.
