BORIS Johnson has said that the UK and the EU have reached a new Brexit deal, following meetings with EU officials in Brussels.
The deal will now have to be approved by both the EU and UK parliaments.
President of the EU Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, called the new deal a ‘fair and balanced agreement’ on social media.
The deal will be debated and voted on in Westminster on Saturday. Johnson’s government will need the backing of the DUP, the Tory European Research Group and Labour rebels for the deal to be passed.
Following news of the new agreement, the DUP said they had not yet changed their position to support a deal.
The UK Prime Minister said that the new deal allowed the UK to ‘take back control.’
