A TEENAGER has choked to death during break at a school in Andalucia.

The 15-year-old girl died on the playground yesterday after a piece of her ham sandwich got stuck in her throat.

Policia Nacional received a call at around 12:35pm from the IES Az-Zait secondary school saying a young girl had passed away.

Medical services were sent to the scene but they could not do anything to revive the teen.

A routine investigation has been launched.

It comes after a newborn baby almost died earlier this week in Malaga when it also began choking.

Luckily a group of Policia Local agents were nearby.

The parents ran towards them and begged them to save their 11-day-old son.

The officers quickly performed the Heimlich Manoeuvre and were able to save the tot’s life.
