THOUSANDS of children, young people and their parents have taken to the streets across Andalucia to protest climate change.

Several police vans were seen escorting hordes of protesters through the capital’s city centre from 6pm onwards today.

The young people held up signs saying ‘change you life, not the climate’ and ‘rescue the planet NOW!’

The scenes were repeated in the likes on Malaga which saw several thousand march throughout the provincial capital.

The children there had been preparing all week by making signs and banners.

Some tourists took pictures of the marches before joining in.

“Good for them, it’s great to see young people being so passionate,” one British couple told the Olive Press.

“It’s a crying shame that the adults who run the world are failing to act, we can learn a lot from young people.

“I’m glad they will be the ones taking over.”

It comes after superstar campaigner Greta Thunberg went viral this week after giving an impassioned speech to world leaders at the UN.

The 16-year-old became emotional after accusing those in power of stealing her childhood by forcing her to devote her teenage years to battling climate change.
