AN investigation has been launched after a dead body was found on the side of A-7 motorway yesterday.

The corpse of the 44-year-old man was found at kilometre 209 near Mijas in the early hours of the morning.

Investigators are unsure if the man fell from a bridge or if there is a more sinister explanation.

The discovery of the body caused almost three hours of traffic jams between Malaga and Mijas.
