Urgent – Blood required as Costa Blanca stocks run low

COSTA Blanca authorities are setting up urgent blood transfusion centres, in light of the current shortage of certain blood groups.

Temporary units are to be set up in four Vega Baja towns, so that the public can come forward and donate. 

The Hemodonation Promotion Service of the Transfusion Center of Alicante has “very tight” reserves of the O+, O-, A- and B- blood groups.

Therefore, please look out for pop-up centres at the following sites.

Orihuela Costa: Sep 16 at the Alameda del Mar Civic Center, La Zenia (4.30pm to 8.30pm).

Albatera: Sep 16 at the Health Centre. (4.30pm to 8.30pm).

New Daya: Sep 18 in the Multipurpose Building (5pm to 8:30 pm)

Pilar de la Horadada: Sep 20 at the Leisure Centre for the Elderly (5pm to 8:30 pm)
