MALAGA is among five Andalucian provinces that have been placed on yellow alert for storms today.
Cadiz, Almeria, Jaen and Granada all have warnings in place, while Granada also has an alert for rainfall.
In Malaga Province scattered thunderstorms are forecast for Ronda, with a 40% chance of rain in the area.
Further up the coast, AEMET has also issued yellow rainfall and storm warnings for Murcia and Alicante.
In these areas there could be as much as 20mm of rain per hour and the probability is as high as 70%.
Most weather warnings are in place until 6pm today, while there are none issued for southern Spain on Friday or Saturday.
Mallorca and Menorca also have yellow coastal warnings in place today and tomorrow, as waves could be set to reach three metres high.
A yellow warning is AEMET’s lowest level of risk.
