PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle have taken their newborn son Archie on his first family holiday to Ibiza – by private jet.
The Duchess of Sussex had flown to the White Isle to celebrate turning 38 with a six day trip which saw the royal couple stay at a secluded villa.
Despite talking up their Eco credentials, Prince Harry and Meghan’s chartered jet would have emitted six times more carbon dioxide per person than a standard flight.
“The Duke of Sussex speaks wonderful and stirring words on the environment and then he flies off on holiday to a European destination in a private jet,” said Aaron Kiely of Friend of the Earth.
“He could have taken a train and then a boat. This would have been the perfect opportunity to set an environmental example.”
Ibiza has been said to hold a special place in Meghan’s heart, she visited the island in 2016, with a group of friends before meeting the British prince.
A source told the Mallorcan press: “No images have emerged of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Archie, who stayed at a villa away from the cameras.
“They travelled with security personnel and it is reported that local security forces were not needed.”
