Police seek footage from British expats after ‘maniac’ zip ties hostage on balcony after ‘slitting his throat’ on Spain’s Costa del Sol

POLICE need more evidence to charge ‘maniac’ who tied man to balcony railings after ‘slitting his throat’ on the Costa del Sol.

British expats who witnessed the incident yesterday evening have been asked to hand over any photos and videos of the incident to Guardia Civil.

It comes after the unnamed man appeared on the third floor balcony of a flat overlooking Duquesa port with a large kitchen knife.

Guardia Civil were called as the assailant paraded a bloodied and blindfolded hostage in front of terrified expats and holidaymakers.

Police were able to arrest the man after a pair of quick thinking British holidaymakers, staying in the same block of flats, called Marina Real, handed over their keys.
