RELIEF: Cool air to hit the Costa Blanca this Sunday with temperatures dropping to 30°C

THE heatwaves throughout July felt like they would never end.

But relief is on the horizon as a ‘temperature drop’ is expected to hit Alicante this Sunday.

Thermometres will not exceed 30°C, according to the Spanish Met Office (AEMET).

The cooler weather however will come after a ‘sultry’ Saturday with highs of 36°C expected along the coast.

The interior of Alicante will peak at 39°C – one of the hottest days of summer so far.

But the Sunday cold front will put an end to the searing heat all across Spain.

It will be most felt in the north of Spain, with showers expected and a temperature drop of 8-10°C.
