Driver confuses Barcelona’s ‘busiest’ Metro entrance with car park and goes bumper-first down staircase

A DRIVER has sent her car bumper-first down the entrance to Barcelona’s ‘busiest’ Metro entrance after she confused it with a car park.

The car got stuck after the ‘first flight’ of stairs in the Plaza de España station, where two of the city’s most-used lines run.

DOH: The car got stuck after the first flight of stairs

Firefighters and a tow-truck were called to scene to rescue the woman and her car, which got stuck at 10.30 today (Monday).

The Accident Unit of the Local Police of Barcelona has opened an investigation to try to discover how the incident occurred.

One current hypotheses is that the driver confused the mouth of the metro with access to the parking lot of the Las Arenas shopping center.
