THESE are the terrifying videos from an ongoing blaze at a chemical plant in the Campo de Gibraltar.

In several clips shared online, huge flames and clouds of black smoke can be seen erupting into the atmosphere.

The flames are believed to have erupted at a chemical plant in San Roque at 3.10pm.

Locals have been sharing videos on social media of the flames which seem to only be growing bigger after first appearing around an hour ago.

“My house is on the mountain opposite,” Chantelle Henshaw told the Olive Press, “It’s terrifying, the worst thing about it is the smell!”

The fire, which started at 3:10 p.m., erupted in the Indorama refinery.

The Indian company is dedicated to the manufacture of plastics.

The flames have caused a large column of black smoke that has spread across the Bay of Algeciras and can be seen in much of the Campo de Gibraltar region.

Bomberos are already at the scene while more are being transferred from Malaga.
