THIS is the shocking moment a bullring volunteer was gored to death in front of 2,000 spectators.
The 60-year-old torilero, whose job it is to goad the bull, was punctured through the neck, while still standing in the pen.
Footage from the ‘Fiestas del Toro’ in Zamora shows the man release the bull before it charges back through the gate, attacking the man.
Bullfighting fans can be seen grabbing their heads in disbelief, as the volunteer at the Benavente bullring is tossed in the air by the animal.
Known as SDR, he was rushed to the on-site infirmary where he was pronounced dead, after his injuries meant he had ‘no chance’ of survival’.
He was already unconscious when help reached him, and had been struck several times by the bull.
The festival was then cancelled after news of the man’s death, while the mayor of Mayor of Benavente, Luciano Huerga said the council will hold some kind of mourning.
