MR ZIPPY: Teens run from police after breaking into ice cream van in Alicante

FOUR teenagers fled from police after they were spotted breaking into an ice cream van near Alicante.

An eyewitness called Policia Nacional after spotting the boys, aged between 15 and 17, break the padlock off a truck outside Helados Alacant in San Vicente del Raspeig.

A second witness started beeping his horn at the teenagers, who ran off before police chased them down on a nearby street.

A fifth teen, who was not involved, told police the four arrested boys just ‘wanted some ice cream’.

He explained how one of the four kept sentry, while three jumped a boundary fence and broke a padlock off the right-side door of one of the firm’s ice cream trucks.

The teens were left without scoop or cone, however, as they fled before they could get their hands on any ice cream.
