World’s longest water slide opens in Benidorm

THE longest water slide in the world has just opened on the Costa Blanca.

The Cyclon at Aqualandia, in Benidorm, is 200 metres long and starts at the same height as a 12-storey building.

The slide is so big that it must be ridden on a toboggan along with three other riders.

After a helter skelter of twists and turns, the 60 km/h plummet culminates in a massive vortex 20 metres wide that offers a feeling a ‘zero gravity’.

Aqualandia opened its doors in 1985 and is a European waterpark leader.

The park’s 33-metre tall VERTI-GO slide is also the highest in the world, and brave sliders can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h.

The tourist season started on May 25 and day tickets start at special-offer prices of €20 per person.
