Young man shot on Spain’s Costa del Sol in suspected gang warning

SHOOTING: The attack took place in the Arroyo de la Miel area of Benalmadena

A YOUNG man has been shot on the Costa del Sol in a suspected gangland attack.

The 25-30-year-old was wounded in his leg in Benalmadena before being rushed to the Hospital Clinico.

The victim, of North African origin, was attacked at around 00:30am on Sunday, in the Arroyo de la Miel area.

WOUNDED: The young man that was shot was rushed to Malaga’s Hospital Clinico

Police have not made any arrests, but believe the single shot that was fired could be a warning from a gang, due to the man’s leg being the target.

The type of weapon used in the shooting is not currently known, and the man is now believed to be in a stable condition.

It comes after just a fortnight after the Office of the Public Prosecutor in Malaga expressed ‘serious concern’ about the rise in murders on the Costa del Sol.
