AN Andalucian couple discovered a buzzing sound that was keeping them up at night had been caused by 80,000 bees in their bedroom wall.
The pair from Granada, had been mystified by the low humming sound coming from their wall for two years.
When the sound became louder as temperatures in the area rose they decided to call in a beekeeper.
“From about three months ago there was an unbearable noise and they didn’t know what to do,”
“Just imagine!” said beekeeper Sergio Guerrero.
The experienced beekeeper was shocked the couple had managed to put up with the noise for so long.
He said: “With a hive that big it’s a wonder they didn’t have a constant buzz in their ear,
“I can’t understand how they’ve been able to live with them for the past two years.”
Guerrero believes Andalucia’s bee population is in good health and has received more callouts this year than ever before.
It comes as conservationists around the globe mark World Bee Day amid a decline in the worldwide bee population.
