Body washed up on Costa del Sol beach is of missing British expat pensioner

POLICE have confirmed that the body which washed up on a Costa del Sol beach in October is that of missing British expat Roger Hanks. 

The pensioner, 73, disappeared from Coin during the floods on October 10 last year.

Some 13 days later, a body washed up on the Ancha beach in Casares, Manilva, in an advanced state of decomposition.

After comparing the body’s DNA with relatives of Hanks, Guardia Civil have confirmed the body is that of the pensioner.

Police believe he was carried away by the river Pereila during the floods.
