AN elderly man has been rescued thanks to a police dog, after getting lost in a forest in Marbella.
The 80-year-old had left his house at around 2.30pm yesterday, but when he did not come home five hours later, relatives called the police.
After Policia Nacional sent out a search team, it was a service dog specialised in tracking, who found the elderly man and alerted the officers at around 11.30pm.
The dog led officials to the man, where he was found lying across a footpath in the forest.
He was believed to be conscious but very weak.
The elderly man has now returned home after receiving medical attention.
