THIS is the moment a Marbella town became flooded with water this morning.

San Pedro de Alcantara’s streets have been turned into rivers after the drains are believed to have overflown.

The water can be seen flooding restaurants and bars with one man standing almost knee deep in the floods, which have been exacerbated by the heavy rainfall.

“It’s mad,” one expat told the Olive Press, “it’s like the streets have been turned into rivers.

“It couldn’t be worse timing with rain falling hard already and expected to for much of today.”

Heavy rainfall is expected to fall all along the Costa del Sol today after AEMET issued a yellow weather alert yesterday.
