THIS is the moment a baby turtle and its parent were freed from plastic off the coast of Spain.

The two-minute clip shows rescuers scoop the turtles out of the water after they became entangled among a plastic bottle and rings.

The video was shot off the coast of the Cabrera National Park in Mallorca on Sunday.

It shows how the animals were left with purple rings around their fins and necks.

The Protocolo de actuación para varamiento animales marinos organised the rescue.
