THE FUTURE: Solar panels in space

A MALAGA firm is on a mission to send solar panels into space.

DHV Technology, launched in 2013, aims to seize on a rising demand for panels attached to satellites.

The company’s three founders, Vicente Díaz, Miguel Ángel Vázquez y Francisco Rubiño, said their ambitions are now even ‘bigger’ and they want to expand to other parts of satellite technology.

Over the last four years, DHV has developed around 40 solar panel projects for various companies outside Spain.

They are currently working on the Argomoon project with Italian firm Argotec. That satellite will be launched on 2020, traveling 10,000km away from Earth.
