Spanish flights could be cancelled as airport workers threaten to strike

Mallorca Airport

Holidays to Barcelona, Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza could be delayed or cancelled this week as Spanish air traffic control workers plan to strike.

The disgruntled staff are demanding more free time as currently they only receive one day off out of every eight and are unable to spend much time with their families.

There are also complaints of irregular work schedules meaning late nights and early morning rotas leaving the workers fatigued.

Unless their demands are met they have threatened to leave their posts by the end of the week which could cause massive delays in some of the major airports and even some flights to be cancelled.

As this is the most popular time for holidaymakers to travel to these destinations it could mean turmoil for thousands of passengers.

Please share if you know of anyone travelling this week
