A LUCKY expat has had his designer bag and more than €5,000 in cash returned to him after he left it in a supermarket.

The 46-year-old, from Holland, left €5,575, his passport and other documents in his bag which he left in a trolley at an Estepona supermarket.

Fortunately for him, the manager took the bag to the Policia Nacional office where they were able to find out who owned the bag and reach out to him.

Police said the manager who handed in the bag was an ‘exemplary neighbour’ who deserves recognition.
