A FRENZIED search for a missing Palma sailboat has ended in relief after its captain and the vessel were located in an Algerian Port.
Maritime Rescue and the Spanish Air Force had led a fruitless search for 46-year-old Joan F.M. and his boat the Virgen del Mar II, after it disappeared last Thursday.
Concern was raised by the captain’s family members after he did not return to port in Palma as expected and had not raised the alarm or contacted anyone.
