Madrid’s firefighters go green to reduce pollution in the city

MADRID’S firefighters have turned to electric to help reduce pollution across the city.

The fire service has added 19 electric vehicles to its fleet which can travel 167 kilometres on a single charge and take just 30 minutes to fully recharge.

It is estimated the move will save €18,000 and reduce emissions by 50 tonnes while the total cost of the fleet came in at €660,000.
