TRAVEL website Tripadvisor has listed the top 10 emerging worldwide destinations to visit and a town on the Costa del Sol made the grade.
Nerja has been ranked number nine and is the only destination in Spain to be given the accolade.
It sits alongside Gdansk in Poland, Riga in Latvia and Rovinj in Croatia as the only other places in Europe to have been chosen
The island of Ishigaki in Japan claimed the top spot on the Travellers’ Choice list.
Pity it’s also the one with raw sewage pictured this week coming out of Burriana beach. Apart from that aspect, Nerja is indeed a lovely place.
