ON New Year’s Eve, an astonishing 693 emergency calls were made, with 157 incidents declared around the Balearics.
The Emergency System of the Balearic Islands (SEIB112) received the overwhelming amount of calls between 11pm and 8am on New Year’s day.
In Mallorca alone 133 incidents and accidents occurred in the short time span, 18 of which needed medical assistance.
In Mallorca there were six traffic accidents, seven fights worthy of police intervention, three street fires, two robberies… the list goes on.
