BREAKING: Military plane crashes in southern Spain after taking part in National Day celebrations

A EUROFIGHTER combat jet plane has crashed near a military base in southeastern Spain.

It went down after taking part in a parade in Madrid for Spain’s national day.

“I can confirm a plane has crashed,” a ministry spokeswoman said, with local media reporting the aircraft crashed near a military base at Albacete, 300 kilometres southeast of Madrid.

It is not immediately clear if there were any victims, the defence ministry spokesman added.
