BREAKING: Police confirm Barcelona events part of terror attack as two confirmed dead

POLICE have confirmed that they believe the events in Barcelona to be part of a terrorist attack. 

It comes after a van who ploughed through crowds of people in the popular Las Ramblas area within the last hour.

At least two are reported to have died after the white van knocked down crowds of people.

There have also been unconfirmed reports of gunshots in the area.

All metro systems have been shut down.
