EMERGENCY: Map shows route plane took after crew sent may-day call

A FLIGHT from East Midlands Airport to Mallorca has been diverted to Gatwick after an emergency was declared.

The Thomson Airways plane made the unscheduled landing after crew sent a ‘7700’ emergency signal to air-traffic control.

The plane has now landed safely, but it is not yet know what caused the emergency signal to be sent.
