Spain smashes temperature record as heat scorches Andalucia

UNPRECEDENTED temperatures are cooking southern, central and eastern Spain while a heat wave sweeps the country.

Bearing the brunt of it is a municipality in the Cordoba province, Montoro, where highs reached a record-breaking 47.3C.

AEMET has said temperatures will cool slightly today, but that the heatwave will continue until at least Sunday.
