Unlicensed Mallorca cab drivers to be slapped with fines of up to €12,000

PIRATE cab drivers in Mallorca are set to be slapped with fines of between €6-12,000.

The Balearic government is set to crack down on illegal cabbies who advertise on the internet.

Inspections will be concentrated on the airport, where pirate cab drivers concentrate their operations, between June and September.

Unauthorised car rental services will also be targeted, according to transport director general Jaume Mateu.

  1. If that does not work, they raise the fines to 120.000. How else can you make it in time for siësta; and tomorrow we are all closed, for ehrmm, which vigin this time? My cousin is a cab driver, you know. I have to do something, granddad told me. Politics. It is a hard job.
