mushroom-P1070196A NEW foraging booklet will help foodies avoid poisonous mushrooms.

Twenty of the most common species of fungi are identified in the publication, 10 of which are toxic.

The pamphlet, soon to be released in Casares, will be complete with photographs of each, along with descriptions of their main features.

It has been created by the Casares Department of Environment to mark the arrival of the mushroom season.

While mushrooms have not traditionally featured in Casares cuisine, collection of them by local people and tourists alike has become widespread over recent years.
