Eating fish linked to avoiding diabetes

Fish

THE health benefits of following a Mediterranean diet have been brought to the fore yet again.

Having at least two servings of fatty fish every week may lower the risk of contracting type two diabetes, according to a Madrid research centre.

The Spanish Biomedical Research Center in Physiopathology of Obesity and Nutrition, concluded that exposure to omega-3, largely through fish, dramatically reducesFish the chances of developing diabetes.

The centre is also working on a theory to prove that olive oil and nut consumption reduces the chances of heart-related illness.
