sea spongeWOMEN in Spain are being encouraged to ditch their tampons and use sea sponges instead.

In a bid ‘to save the planet’, members of the CUP party in Catalunya are encouraging women ‘with an environmental conscience’ to favour sea sponges over tampons.

They claims that some traditional products are in fact ‘harmful’ for women’s health and have also suggested introducing reusable sanitary towels on a wider scale.
