Ronda seeing resurgence in pistachio cultivation

pistachiosRONDA is witnessing a rejuvenation in pistachio cultivation with more than 20 hectares already planted.

It has not grown so extensively in the region since the Moorish empire, but the crop is now believed to be more profitable than olives and almonds.

The price of the dried nut continues to climb thanks to a growing demand in China and Europe.

Laurence Dollimore

Laurence Dollimore is a Spanish-speaking, NCTJ-trained journalist with almost a decade’s worth of experience.
The London native has a BA in International Relations from the University of Leeds and and an MA in the same subject from Queen Mary University London.
