Spanish political crisis reaches head as Pedro Sanchez faces second Congress vote

PEDRO Sanchez is gearing up for the final investiture vote this evening.

The PSOE leader was able to secure the backing of just 130 votes in Wednesday’s first debate, with one deputy abstaining.

The other 219 deputies, including Podemos and the PP, who voted against Sanchez on Wednesday have said they will do so again tonight.

If that happens, the parties have until May 2 to negotiate power-sharing alternatives before a second general election which would take place on June 26.
