Gran Recogida returns as Spaniard’s give a helping hand to the hungry

Gran Recogida

Gran-RecogidaCHRISTMAS is a time of plenty, but not for everyone in Spain.

The annual festive Gran Recogida mobilised 4,500 volunteers in Malaga and 29,000 throughout Andalucia to help feed hungry families.

Organisers were hoping people would donate up to 750,000 kilos of food in the event’s fourth year.

Last year, 688,000 kg of rice, olive oil, milk and non-perishable products were collected to help poor families.
